Description:
Metal powders are blended to achieve the desired mechanical or physical properties. This powder is then fed into a punch and a die set which is in a hydraulic, mechanical or electric press. The powder is then compacted to the desired shape and density. Once the part is ejected from the die, it moves to the sintering furnace. The parts are then heated to 2000-2300 degrees F, which causes a metallurgical bond to take place and gives the part its strength.
